The Palma 2 is an improvement over the original, although it doesn’t mess with what already worked. It’s still an Android device that aims to reduce distractions and screen time with its dual-tone ePaper display. Most people who bought one saw value in having a pocket-friendly e-reader rather than buying a larger Kindle, and as the Palma 2 is marketed $279.99 – $35 more than what the original model currently sells for Amazon – you will soon get more value for your money.
The Palma 2’s screen is unchanged from its predecessor at 300 PPI (pixels per inch), with the ability to switch between cool and warm color temperatures to make it easy on the eyes. What’s new for this device is a fingerprint sensor built into the power button, allowing you and no one else to unlock it. The other improvements may be less noticeable to those who only read books, but are still appreciated, including the upgrade to Android 13 and a faster octa-core CPU. Since you can use apps downloaded from the Google Play Store, speed boosts will only make the Palma 2 a more suitable companion in the future. As for eBooks and documents compatibility, it supports a lot including PDF, CBZ, EPUB, MOBI and many more.
