The best social reaction to Man City’s Treble parade from an Oasis album vibe to Calvin Klein boost

An atmosphere on the cover of an Oasis album, the best publicity for Calvin Klein since the 1980s, and a Man United fan in THEIR Treble shirt: the best social media reaction to the Man City parade

Manchester City held their open-top bus parade through the local streets to celebrate their 2022-23 Treble – and social media was on hand to add to the hilarity.

Jack Grealish was one of the many stars to be seen – despite partying almost non-stop since Saturday night – as thousands filled the streets of Manchester, mostly in sky-blue City.

Here’s Mail Sport’s look at some of the wildest tweets about Man City’s Monday night coach trip:

There were an estimated 100,000 fans on the streets of Manchester – despite a widespread comment that the Citizens are a fanless club.

One of them responded by saying: ‘Manchester City have no fans’ and then ‘Man City treble parade right now’, next to a picture of blue and white waving fans.

While the photo couldn’t possibly be from Manchester – the sea can be seen in the background – it’s not much different from some photos of fans celebrating the trio of successes over the past few weeks.

A stunning photo of a topless Grealish stretched out like a messiah drew a lot of attention – and not just because the midfielder reveals his underwear.

Journalist Nick Harris called it a “Great picture,” before adding, “Has Oasis album cover vibes, too.” Noel will write a track about figurative crucifixion, which will be the first single. Liam will denounce it like pants. “And I don’t mean cool pants like Jack’s.”

Upon seeing Grealish’s white pants, fellow reporter Martyn Ziegler tweeted, “Best piece of publicity for Calvin Klein since Back To The Future,” referring to the hit 1980s movie.

Many compared Grealish’s antics in Turkey, Spain and now England favorably to those of Freddie Flintoff after the 2005 Ashes series.

One wrote: ‘You have to seriously respect the commitment of these City players, there will be some rough heads over the next few days.

“Jack Grealish is having his Freddie Flintoff moment and he deserved it, the trooper.”

Fans were able to savor the moment – and the two-day gap between victory in Istanbul and the spectacle in Manchester meant more fans were able to return from Turkey in time to celebrate with their families.

One tweeted, “About 5 days that will never be bettered. has still not penetrated well.

‘Right home to pick up the boy to get it wet at the parade and wouldn’t have it any other way. What a club.. what a journey @ManCity Never ever change’.

Not all fans were in blue, however – one chose to appear in a Manchester United shirt featuring their retro sponsor Sharp, a recall to the 1999 Treble winners across town.

Someone shared a photo of the man and added: ‘This Manchester United fan wore the United shirt at Manchester City’s treble parade. Oh this guy’.

Another tweet shared photos of the 1999 parade alongside the 2023 journey, showing that Man City were much more colorful in their blue dominance, while Manchester United’s route through the city seemed much more pedestrian.

Despite their non-stop fun since reaching the final result in Istanbul 48 hours earlier, the players were still able to tweet about the parade to their millions of Twitter followers.

Kevin De Bruyne, who was injured on Saturday evening, wrote: ‘Word lost!’ next to a sky blue heart emoji and four photos from the parade.

Bernardo Silva also used the blue heart emoji next to the caption “What a day!”, and an image of the blue Mancunian streets from Monday’s parade.

And with his Manchester City contract coming to an end, this could be the last time Ilkay Gundogan plays with this group of players – and he was eager to celebrate every moment with them.

Gundogan wrote: ‘Another emotional and unforgettable day. Thanks to all the fans who welcome us to Manchester.’

While the man in the retro Man United shirt may not be on the same wavelength, Manchester City fans will always welcome their Treble heroes.
