  • Commissioner
  • Ministorum Priest
  • Sanctioned Psyker

Below we explain why this is so the best origin A rogue trader.

Commissioner

In the Empire of Man, respect and fear go hand in hand. Many dialogues give you options to gain people's respect for you by threatening them. With that in mind, Commissar fits perfectly in terms of the plot. Commissar's Feature, “At All Cost!”, amplifies attacks, allowing you to take action more safely.

The Commissioner's Origin gives you Fellowship +5 as one of your signature modifiers, a trait that affects Persuasion, Coercion, and Trade skills, all of which are required in many tests that guide your journey through the Koronus Expanse determine.

Ministorum Priest

While exploring undiscovered corners of the universe is the Rogue Trader's mission, you may want to use the journeys as an opportunity to spread the religion of the Imperium. The conflict between heretics and the teachings of the God-Emperor is a constant theme in the game, and you may wish to participate in this dispute as a Ministorum Priest.

In terms of gameplay, Ministorum Priest is able to charge the party's Momentum, a special resource that you can use for heroic acts or desperate measures: powerful unique abilities that you can only activate once per battle in most cases. At the same time, this origin is the perfect match if you want to play the role of tank at your party. With the signature modifiers of Toughness and Willpower and Medicae as one of the Skill Modifiers, Ministorum Priests are ready to stand up for their allies.

Sanctioned Psyker

If either of the previous two options caught your attention, and you'd rather play a grimmer and mysterious character rather than bastions of the God-Emperor's will, then you should go for the Sanctioned Psyker. You have been chosen – or cursed – with psychic abilities that connect you to the warp.

Sanctioned Psyker's origins allow for different approaches to playstyle due to the origin's specialization. Maybe you want to go for a space battle mage and choose the Biomancer, or maybe you want to take on encounters from afar and burn enemies as a Pyromancer, for example. In addition to all this, the origin has Lore (Warp) as one of the skill modifiers, which is quite useful for exploring the places you visit in the game.
