The best investment of last year? Premium Bond saver wins £100,000 with a £100 bond – see all winners
A Premim Bonds holder has won a £100,000 prize in May’s prize draw from a £100 asset he bought just over a year earlier.
The lucky winner, based in Inner London, put the £100 into Premium Bonds in March 2023, meaning they achieved a whopping 99,900 per cent return in just over a year.
Meanwhile, another Premium Bonds holder from West Yorkshire has scooped a £50,000 prize from an holding of £125 worth of bonds he bought in June 2018.

Two lucky Premium Bonds holders will emerge in May as millionaires having won the £1 million Premium Bonds jackpot prizes.
One of the coveted £1 million jackpot prizes was won by a Premium Bonds customer from Hampshire, with a holding of £45,000. The winning bonds were purchased in September 2022.
The other prize of £1 million was won by a saver based in Outer London, who held £10,575 worth of Premium Bonds. Their winning bonds were purchased in July 2020.

This month, 45 percent of the highest value prizes – the £1 million, £100,000 and £50,000 prizes – were won by customers with a maximum holding of £50,000, This is Money analysis shows.
A total of 5,888,574 prizes worth £453,420,125 will be paid out during the May 2024 prize draw.
There were two £1 million prizes this month, 87 £100,000 prizes and 173 £50,000 prizes.
