There’s plenty of good TV, enough of it, in fact Awesome TV is now on (see, for example, the numerous series new to Polygon’s own list of the best TV of 2024 so far). And lo and behold, there’s even some new great TV hitting the screens this week, as always.
Hacking is back, ready to carve out screens and punchlines with equal amounts of angry glee. There is also the end of it Chucky season 3, which still has more fun as a show than almost anything else alive right now. Or if The department of tortured poets got you in the mood to parse small moments for big character work, you can choose from either The veil or My next guest needs no introductionboth of which should provide ample fodder for those inclined to search small affections for deeper meanings.
Anyway, I can’t say there’s nothing more going on. Just that there might be one lot of it. These are the best new TV premieres and finales coming to TV this week.

Chucky season 3B finale
Genre: Horror (evil doll)
Date of publication: May 1
Showrunner/creator: Don Mancini
Form: Brad Dourif, Zackary Arthur, Jennifer Tilly and more
Death awaits in the finale of Chucky‘s explosive third season. Sure, the North Pole was destroyed (“It was already melting,” one character jokes), but what about Jennifer Tilly and Jake? Both ended the penultimate episode being injected with deadly chemicals – one on death row, one in which Chucky was found in the spirit realm. The finale certainly promises a resolution, but also what we’ve all been waiting for this season: John Waters with a gun.

Showrunner/creator: Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky
Form: Jean Smart, Hannah Einbinder and more
We return to the wonderful world of entertainment, at least as far as the dynamic between aging comedian Deborah (Jean Smart) and her former writer wife Ava (Hannah Einbinder) is concerned. As Season 3 begins, Deborah is trying to figure out life in the spotlight, and Ava is trying to figure out life outside of Deborah.
Who will figure it out first? Not as interesting as who gets the best barb first.
