Attorney Sam Wood has shared his number one tip for raising his 17-year-old teenage daughter Eve.
In a column for 9 honeythe 42-year-old revealed that the best thing he can do is listen to his teenager.
I am not an expert parent. I’m learning like everyone else: as I go along, but I hope I can share what I’ve learned and it can help anyone else going through the same thing,” he wrote.
He then revealed the importance of listening, adding: “This is something that I have historically not done well.”
‘I fell into the trap of just telling Eve what I thought she should do. He had been so preoccupied with the solution that he hadn’t really seen his point of view. She didn’t need the answer (or my answer!).’

Sam is married to his wife Snezana and is stepfather to Eve, who is his daughter from a previous relationship.
The Woods met on The Bachelor in 2015 and they married in 2018.
The couple also share three daughters of their own, Willow, four, Charlie, two, and newborn daughter Harper.
Sam and Snezana welcomed their fourth child in May of last year.
Harper was born a month early and had to be taken to the ICU after contracting an infection, while Snezana was taken to another hospital with sepsis.

Last year, Sam shared the strict rules his oldest daughter’s new boyfriend, Eve, must follow.
He revealed in Fitzy & Wippa’s radio show in October, Eve’s 17-year-old boyfriend can’t stay the night.
Sam also revealed that his wife Snezana’s rule is that the door must remain open when he visits her.
‘It’s new…[Eve] dropped a bomb He is a very nice guy. Complete forward on the soccer team,” Sam said.
Snezana is married to fitness entrepreneur Sam, who is the stepfather of Eve, her daughter from a previous relationship. The couple also share three daughters of their own, Willow, four, Charlie, two, and newborn daughter Harper.
Host Ryan Fitzgerald asked: ‘Did you question him, Sammy? Did you ask him questions?
‘Eve rolls her eyes and gets him out of there real quick and smart. You have about 30 seconds to question him,” Sam explained.
Ryan then asked if Eve’s new boyfriend can stay the night.
‘Oh God, hell no. Nah nah, Snez says the door is open even when he’s done,” Sam replied.
