The Bachelors confirm the new season is the wildest yet as they prepare to find love

The Bachelors is back for another season, and the three men looking for love in the struggling dating series have confirmed it’s been a “wild” ride filming the show.

Appearing on The Sunday Project this weekend, former NRL player Luke Bateman, model Ben Waddell and Brazilian-born influencer Wesley Senna Cortes offered a glimpse into the upcoming season.

When asked if the show is going to be a “wild ride,” Wesley joked, “Oh, it’s already been.” Oh man.’

“We’re already in the deep end,” self-proclaimed “farm boy” Luke laughed.

Footballer Luke then admitted that he is much more sensitive than his athletic prowess would suggest.

‘I’m much better at poetry than I ever was at footy. I try to keep that a secret so thank you for sharing that with everyone,” he joked after his poetic skill was mentioned by the show’s hosts.

Wesley went on to explain that there was some competition between the men, even though they have all become good friends.

“I’ve got two hot guys here going for the same ladies, so all the help I can get is sure,” he said, using his Brazilian background to his advantage.

Channel 10 recently confirmed rumors that next year’s season of The Bachelor will once again feature three suitors competing for love on the controversial dating series.

Model Ben Waddell previously made headlines when he took legal action against Netflix over the concept for Down to Earth starring Zac Efron, which he claimed was stolen from him, but has since dropped the case.

He was also previously linked to Pip Edwards when they were spotted at the 2023 Australian Open just weeks after her ex Michael Clarke’s Noosa brawl with Karl Stefanovic.

Brazilian-born Wesley stands at a whopping 6 feet 7 inches (187 cm) tall and has appeared in several short films.

According to his TheRightFit profile, he has ten years of experience in the creative industry.

“I’m known for my punctuality and ability to take control both on and off set, as well as creating a warm and fun atmosphere on set.”

‘I always strive to get the best out of myself and am eager to learn and challenging. I am confident that I can provide a high level of performance quality and a professional attitude,” he writes in his biography.

Meanwhile, retired footballer Bateman, 28, made his NRL debut playing for the Canberra Raiders in 2015.

Season 11 is currently filming in Melbourne, after Warner Bros. had announced that the series will be moving from the Gold Coast following funding from the Victorian Government.

‘[I’m] I’m thrilled that Melbourne will be the setting for the most romantic season we’ve ever created,” host Osher Gunsberg said in a statement.

“The guys are so amazing and the ladies who chose to be a part of this are powerful, smart women who are not afraid to find the love they came to find.”

Previous seasons have featured spectacular filming locations, from a dazzling six-bedroom, six-bathroom estate in Bayview, Sydney, to a sprawling property in North Sydney’s Oxford Falls.

The show was last filmed at Le Chateau in Dural, New South Wales, a five-bedroom, 12-bathroom country house with an indoor pool, spa, gym and tennis courts.

In a recent statement to Daily Mail Australia, Paramount Australia’s Daniel Monaghan shared his excitement at the change in scenery, stating: ‘The Bachelor franchise has been filmed in some of Australia’s most idyllic locations, and this year we’re thrilled to have the love to share with Victoria.’

“We can’t wait for viewers to fall head over heels for The Bachelor franchise against an all-new backdrop.”

It comes after a disturbing spate of low ratings for The Bachelor in recent years.

The previous finale had an audience of just 358,000 viewers in five cities, making it the least-watched finale in undergraduate history.

That result represented a steep drop of 38.6 percent from the 2021 Bachelors final.

It also marked the end of a devastating viewing season, averaging just 291,000 viewers per episode.

During its heyday in 2018, The Bachelor would draw nearly a million subway viewers per episode.
