The Bachelor’s Alex Nation discusses the challenges of breastfeeding

Alex Nation and her fiancé Carson Jory welcomed their newborn daughter Pearl into the world in April.

The former Bachelor star, 31, who has three children, has been reflecting on the challenges of breastfeeding a month after Pearl was born.

‘Breastfeeding is beautiful and challenging. The bond is sacred. The nights, often long and lonely,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram post.

‘Is my baby getting enough, am I enough for my baby’s needs? Repeats over and over in your head at 11 p.m., 2:30 a.m., and again just as the sun rises.”

Alex continued, “And when you go home, there’s no denying the hunger and hunger for food. which I personally think are more intense than the pregnancy cravings!

“It’s a roller coaster and it’s important to have support while strapped in for the ride,” the former reality star concluded.

Alongside the caption, Alex shared a series of videos featuring her newborn, including touching breastfeeding moments.

In April, Alex was over the moon to finally hold her bundle of joy after a difficult third pregnancy.

She shared the happy news with all of her Instagram followers, posting a black and white photo of herself and Carson sharing a sweet moment with the bub.

It comes after Alex opened up about the struggles she faced with her third pregnancy, revealing that things got so bad that she won’t be having a fourth.

The television star, who is already a mother to sons Elijah, 11, and Maxwell, one, said she doesn’t want to go through the experience of carrying a child again.

In addition to the physical and mental toll, Alex told 9Honey that her difficult pregnancy affected her relationship with her children and partner Carson.

Unfortunately this will be my last pregnancy. I didn’t enjoy it. In the first few weeks when it was really bad, I kept thinking, ‘I’m supposed to enjoy this. This is my last pregnancy. Why is this happening? Is something wrong?” she said.

‘I was convinced that it was [something wrong], so I constantly went to my doctor, but everything was fine. Only this time my body reacted differently to the pregnancy.’

Alex went on to say that her relationship with Carson “was tarnished because I was miserable and my partner was used to me being a very happy, go-getter.”

‘I was moody. I didn’t want anyone near me. I was so disconnected from myself and my family, even my sons,” she added.

She advised other moms to reach out and “ask for help” when they need it because they can’t always be “superhuman.”
