The Bachelor star describes ‘horror flight’ to Ibiza as footage shows terrifying turbulence: ‘I thought my life was over. Everyone screamed, cried, prayed, vomited’

A German reality star from the hit series The Bachelor was on a “horror flight” to Ibiza, with passengers “screaming, crying, praying and throwing up.”

Eva Benetatou, 31, was flying from Hamburg to Ibiza with her two-year-old son George Angelos on Sunday when Eurowings flight 7514 ran into a severe storm over the Balearic Islands.

The reality TV star, who competed on the German version of The Bachelor, took to Instagram yesterday to talk about her horrific ordeal.

‘It was the worst day of my life. Everything was white outside. We were thrown around and even hit the ceiling once. We didn’t know which way was up anymore,’ she said.

Footage taken by another passenger shows the terrifying turbulence as passengers flew out of their seats and screamed in horror.

Eva said, “The whole plane was written off. You could see where parts were missing. Of course they said the plane was fine, but it wasn’t. When we got out, we could see everything.’ She also shared messages she received from another passenger, who was reportedly staying at the same hotel as an engineer working on the plane, who said the radar broke down and then the electricity went out.

Eva added, “I thought our lives were over. Everyone was screaming, crying, praying and throwing up.”

The flight took off from Hamburg despite storm warnings for Ibiza, where the plane had to “circle for over an hour” because it was not cleared to land during the bad weather conditions.

Another plane was also caught in the storm over the Balearic Islands and experienced terrifying turbulence.

The airborne ordeal left passengers fearing for their lives as the plane flew from Alicante in southern Spain to Mallorca on Sunday.

A video shows the plane shaking violently as her frightened fellow passengers clung to their seats as the plane shook and fell – causing people to scream, cry and vomit in what felt like an “eternal” moment.

Areas of northeastern Spain, as well as Majorca, were battered by 120mph winds and torrential rain this weekend, forcing some families to flee for their lives and others stranded on the island as flights were cancelled.

She previously worked as a flight attendant at Germanwings and said she had never experienced such a ‘horror flight’: ‘I am traumatised. You can’t imagine how intense that was.

‘I was afraid for my life. It was the worst nightmare.’

After about ten minutes, the horror turbulence while flying through the storm over Ibiza was over and the plane took off for nearby Alicante for an emergency landing.

The plane had “obviously” sustained some damage during the storm, Eva claimed.

Eva also shared messages she received from another passenger, who was reportedly staying at the same hotel as an engineer working on the plane.

“He told us that the radar broke down, leaving the pilot with no information about the current location and flying straight into the storm.

“Then the electricity went out and he had to manually land the plane in Alicante,” the passenger claims.

Even when the plane landed safely in Alicante, passengers had to wait more than 90 minutes for the plane to be unloaded – in 35 degree heat. Instead of taking a flight from Alicante to Ibiza, she flew back to Germany with her son, who was so shocked and scared that he didn’t bleep during the ordeal.

Influencer Eva called what happened “irresponsible, traumatic and negligent” on the part of the airline.

“I am infinitely grateful that we made it home safely. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone in the world.”

That says a spokesperson for the airline to the German newspaper Image: ‘There has never been any danger to the safety of the passengers and crew on flight EW7514.’
