The Bachelor: Laura Byrne throws a bachelorette party ahead of wedding to Matty Johnson

Laura Byrne partied hard on Friday, kicking off her bachelorette weekend with manicures, drinks and karaoke.

The Bachelor star, 38, started her day getting a relaxing manicure with her girlfriends, sitting next to her dear friend and radio co-star Brittany Hockley.

When the bride-to-be returned home, she was surprised to see all her closest friends waiting in her decorated kitchen and with cut-out faces of her beloved Matty Johnson.

Balloons hung over the living room, reading “Team Bride” as the women united and poured themselves some alcoholic drinks to start the night off right.

Laura donned a huge white “bride hat” which she kept on for most of the night.

At one point, one of Laura’s friends put on the Matty mask while they were jokingly kissing each other.

It comes just days after Laura confessed that she nearly lost her chance at love after nearly pulling out of The Bachelor at the last minute.

Laura and Matty are one of the most successful couples to come out of the show, but the brunette told the I’ve Got News For You podcast that it almost didn’t happen because she got “cold feet” the day before filming started. in 2017.

“I completely changed my mind and didn’t want to go filming,” says Laura, who talks about her bachelor’s journey in her new book We Love Love, co-written with fellow reality star Brittany Hockley.

“If you’re selected, you’ll be given a time and location, and it’s a secret time and a secret location, to try and throw off paparazzi,” she explained.

“Mine was a pick-up location in Alexandria in a random park at 3pm, and you’re supposed to get up with all your bags and a bus comes to pick you up.

“And I remember three o’clock in the afternoon coming and going and sitting at home and not packing a bag. I had just changed my mind. I really didn’t want to do it; I was worried about what it would be like to compete for a man’s attention on a reality TV show.”

She then got a call from producers who gave her until 10am the next day to decide and she had a dream that night that made her change her mind again.
