Single heartthrob Joey Graziadei has lifted the veil on the mysterious syndrome that made his eyes appear yellow.
Bachelor Nation is swooning over Joey, but many of those who scrutinized his facial features noticed a sometimes jaundiced tinge to his eyes.
And this Thursday, in a candid video on his Instagram page, he warmly explained why his chicks look exactly the way they do.
“Hello everyone, I hope you are having a beautiful day,” said the handsome reality star, as he treated his more than half a million followers to his winning smile.
“I want to move on really quickly here and talk about something that I’m seeing a lot of comments about, which is Joey’s yellow eyes.”

The dreamboat shared, “So to give some context on that, I have to go all the way back to when I was in high school. I was sick for about a week and a half and my mother thought it was a good idea to go to the doctor.’
His blood work revealed a high bilirubin level, indicating that “something could be wrong with my liver.”
Further investigation revealed that “there was nothing necessarily wrong other than hepatitis, but they diagnosed me with Gilbert’s syndrome.”
He assured his legions of admirers: ‘Eventually I will be told that I am healthy. It’s something that affects the whites of my eyes. It causes jaundice to develop, which is why they look a little more yellow.”
Joey said, “It’s something I want to focus more on this year. “I want to get my health in order and make sure I’m okay, but I wanted to at least give some background and let you know that as far as I know, I’m healthy.”
He continued, “It’s just something I have to pay attention to: drinking more. It’s worse when I’m stressed or sleep deprived, like on a TV show.’
He sweetly informed his fans, “I appreciate everyone paying attention to me and wondering if I’m doing okay, but as far as I know I’m as good as they can be, and I’ll keep looking at it, so Thank you very much.’
Joey burst onto the scene last year on The Bachelorette, winning the hearts of fans and ultimately coming in second for the affection of Charity Lawson.

Then on this Monday’s episode, Maria Georgas saw Joey kiss another contestant and threaten to walk away – only to give in and then take a rose.
Joey’s gaffes have also attracted a lot of ridicule online, including when he confused Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
He became a nice figure again in the Valentine’s Day episode when the show took him to Malta and he described the island country, which has been inhabited since about 5900 BC, as having an “old-school atmosphere.”
