The Apprentice SPOILER: The girls suffer ANOTHER food gaffe while making cheesecakes just a week after THAT viral fishcake blunder

The new series of The Apprentice has already got off to a hilarious start, with this year’s contestants leaving viewers in hysterics by using crumble topping on fish cakes.

And in an opening clip from Thursday’s episode, it looks like things are about to get easier for the girls as they face yet another food-related blunder while making miniature cheesecakes for a company event.

While trying out new recipes, the girls make another blunder when they mix pretzels with food coloring that turns their teeth black.

As Onyeka Nweze sticks her tongue out, a shocked Sam Saadet says: “Oh my god, teeth stained! Teeth stained!’

Calling out to Foluso, she adds, “No to the black pretzel, the teeth discolored – we just tested it.”

Foluso tries to justify using the pretzels in their cheesecakes by saying to the group, “Corporate team, will you listen to me for a moment?

“The pretzels have too much food coloring in them, I know this is a bit of an exaggeration, but is there any way to keep the food coloring from being part of the dungeon experience if their teeth get a little black, or something?”

But Flo Edwards quickly dismisses the idea, saying, “No, it’s a corporate event, we can’t have people’s teeth painted.”

Viewers will have to tune in to Thursday’s episode to see if the girls win over customers with their cheesecake creations.

The candidates have already made a shocking start to this series, with Lord Sugar left stunned to learn that the teams had caused him a financial loss during the show’s first task.

The 18 applicants were challenged to organize a luxury getaway in the Scottish Highlands, but the paying customers were far from satisfied.

An embarrassing kitchen prank resulted in one team serving fishcakes in sweet crumble instead of breadcrumbs, while the rival group served cold food 45 minutes after it came out of the oven.

The mistakes did not go unnoticed by Lord Sugar’s trusted assistants, Karren and Tim, who shuddered with pity at the contestant’s shambolic efforts.

Karren, who supervised the females, was split into male and female teams and said the fishcakes were one of the worst things she had ever tasted.

She added: ‘It’s clearly a crumble on a fish cake… it’s disgusting.’

Lord Sugar, who has been at the helm of the BBC show for the past 18 years, says the candidates’ pointless display is the reason he is not overseeing the duties himself.

He said: ‘I’ll leave that to Karren and Tim… it was a tough job, but if I had been there I probably would have had to step in and cook.’

The billionaire noted that seeing the mistakes of the pressured contestants was like “watching your mother-in-law drive your Ferrari over a cliff.”

There were further shortcomings in the men’s kitchen, which served stone-cold sausages despite being headed by pie company owner Phil Turner.

Sales manager Oliver Medforth appeared to shock himself after forgetting to add the flour while making a batch of brownies for dessert – he had to start over.

Instead of their ‘welcome drink’ being a glass of bubbly, they gave the guests tap water.

And the abseiling time was so long overrun that project manager Virdi Singh Mazaria gave his paying customers just four minutes to enjoy a half-hour Scottish country dance lesson – because they had to catch the train home.

The most cringeworthy moment of the show’s first episode, which airs on Thursday evening, came from recruitment director Jack Davies, who had the audacity to ask disgruntled guests for a ‘tip’, which went down like a lead balloon.

After the disastrous job, sales director Oliver Medforth was the first candidate to be fired.

It was Oliver who ultimately suffered the blow after helper Tim Campbell, 46, revealed that customers had asked for a 52% refund, taking the total loss to £506.40.

Karren Brady revealed the girls won, but their winning margin was just £122.43 after 40% of paying customers requested a refund.

Project Manager Virdi Singh Mazaria nominated Ollie and Management Consultant Steve Darken to return to the boardroom.

Seeking advice from his trusted resources, Karren told Ollie’s Lord Sugar: ‘If all your colleagues are asking “what did you do?”, that’s never a good sign in this process.

Despite the disastrous loss, Lord Sugar decided to give Virdi another chance because he had the courage to run for Prime Minister.

During Ollie’s farewell speech, the business mogul said: ‘Ollie, I’m sorry to say it, mate. You are fire.”

Regarding his axing, the sales manager said: “I’m disappointed that I have to go out first. It was a fantastic experience and I wish everyone the best of luck.’

The Apprentice continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
