The Americans crucial to Trump’s Day One illegal migrant deportation goal

Donald Trump plans to take an aggressive crackdown on illegal immigration from day one of his second term, and Latino Americans could be crucial in helping him do so.

Trump’s new “border czar” Tom Homan made it clear that he will take a much more proactive approach to this role than his predecessor, Vice President Kamala Harris.

And one man, Latino Wall Street CEO Tony Delgado spoke about his group’s central role in these efforts and how Latino Americans are flocking to support Trump.

Delgado, a lifelong Democrat, helped run Hispanics for Kennedy in Robert F. Kennedy’s bid for the White House last year. He then switched to Trump’s camp when Kennedy endorsed the now president-elect.

Delgado told DailyMail.com that he took part in an intimate roundtable with Homan in Florida this month.

He revealed how Homan explained his focus on suppressing illegal immigration and the human and fentanyl smuggling crisis at U.S. borders.

Delgado believes Trump will bring the security and safety that Latinos who came to the U.S. through legal channels want to see.

Delgado said Democrats are “misleading” Americans into thinking a migration flow across the southern border won’t harm the U.S.

But he argues that Latinos who have left Central and South American cities controlled by cartels are not fooled and see the writing on the wall of sanctuary cities becoming similar to the cities from which they originally fled.

“A lot of them came here for opportunity, a lot of them came here to escape crime,” Delgado said of those who legally immigrated from their countries and are now U.S. citizens.

“You know, you can fool unsuspecting other American citizens who have never been to Latin America and pretend that the cartels aren’t real,” he said of Democrats’ strategy to keep the borders open.

“We know the cartels are real. We know that crime is real in our countries. In many cases, that’s why we left. So we know the dangers of the cartels and the criminal elements.’

Because these Latino Americans understand the dangers of the cartels and their crime rings, they can be instrumental in spreading the message about why tough policies are necessary, he says.

Homan plans to hit the ground running with three top priorities, Delgado revealed.

The first is closing the border and criminalizing illegal crossings between ports of entry.

Individuals crossing between ports and seeking asylum when apprehended or otherwise evading authorities have led to the largest influx of undocumented migrants living in the U.S. in the past four years under President Joe Biden.

Homan that another priority will be overseeing the “largest mass deportation effort in American history” that Trump promised during his 2024 re-election campaign.

Delgado explained how Homan is currently building relationships with mayors and governors, as well as prisons across the country, to set up a system to help with deportation.

He said Homan has already built a good relationship with New York’s Democratic Mayor Eric Adams, who wants to more directly address his city’s illegal immigrant crisis.

Homan said a priority for deportations will be looking at jails, and prisons where undocumented immigrants are already being held.

He wants these prisons to do much of the “legwork” to get the deportation effort going.

Delgado’s father was actually in prison until recently. He explained how he grew up without a father because he was sentenced to life in prison as a nonviolent drug offender who Delgado said was a victim of the super-harsh drug penalties during the “war on drugs.”

“Trump’s first step frees my father,” Delgado explained. “So Trump takes the first step in 2018, my father signs up for it and my father steps out six months before the elections.”

Delgado’s father flew to Palm Beach, Florida right after he got out of prison and had him attend an event with RFK Jr.

Finally, the third top priority for the Trump administration is “finding the kids,” Delgado said.

He said about 400,000 children are lost at the border, and Homan wants to find out where these children went.

Many are victims of sex trafficking, while others simply go missing because migrants or other people in the US were able to claim the children without showing evidence of relationships.

Delgado is the CEO of Latino Wall Street, a Spanish-language group that his wife Gabriela Berrospi founded to help provide financial education to Latino people in America. Specifically, the group wants to help Latino Americans succeed in business or achieve economic prosperity.
