Proof? Matching friendship bracelets adorning their wrists.

Fans couldn’t help but notice the twinning accessories as the duo spent a relaxing day outdoors.

Lying side by side on the lush grass, the pair were both engrossed in their phones and later shared a jovial moment while holding hands.

While the meaning behind the bracelets remains a secret known only to them, such gestures have long been emblematic of shared moments, memories and a connection that goes beyond dating.

It comes as the media tries their best to come up with a nickname for the new couple.

Channel Seven’s Sunrise and Nine’s Today show have combined the names of the NRL superstar and Matildas star to create a nickname for the new ‘super couple’.

The breakfast shows discussed Ny Breaking Australia’s exclusive photos of the pair putting on a romantic display in Perth, as they revealed possible nicknames for Nathan and Mary.

‘It is the first time that the couple has shown their affection so publicly. Because we’re now kind of the Australian equivalent of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey, we need a name for them,” said Sunrise host Edwina Bartholomew.

Co-host Matt Shirvington added: “I’m trying to figure it out. Maybe Marthan or Nathry?’

“It could be Fleary,” Edwina then suggested.

Meanwhile, Today presenters Karl Stefanovic, Sarah Abo and Alex Cullen also shared their suggestions for the couple’s new nickname.

“I’m going with Mcleary,” Sarah said as Alex admitted, “Oh yeah, I like that one.”

It comes just one day after Mary and a shirtless Nathan were spotted sharing some tender moments in Perth.

Ny Breaking Australia has exclusively revealed photos of the NRL superstar and his football talent girlfriend spend time together in front of the Matildas’ Olympics qualifying match.

Mary left the team hotel on Wednesday morning, grabbed a coffee and met Nathan, who flew into town to support her as she played in Australia’s big win over the Philippines on Sunday.

The pair were spotted lying together in the middle of an open park by the water, laughing, hugging, chatting and drinking from the same water bottle.

At one point, Nathan took off his shirt and Mary lay on his chest.

The stars seemed playful as they lay on the grass, throwing empty water bottles into the air and catching them as he put his arm around her and laughed.

They then briefly held each other as they headed back to Cleary’s black SUV, where the couple had a brief conversation in the car before he drove away, and Fowler walked back to her accommodation.

Fowler declined to comment when Ny Breaking Australia asked about the romantic display, saying: “Sorry, I just want to go back to my hotel.”

Nathan and Mary first sparked romance rumors in August after they were pictured together strolling along the banks of the Nepean River in Penrith in Sydney’s west.

The pair were then seen sharing an ice cream after a promotional event hosted by Adidas, a brand that both athletes endorse.

Last Sunday, Nathan was also photographed with two Matildas fans outside Optus Stadium, just before the Aussies’ 8-0 win over the Philippines, with Mary scoring the opening goal.

The NRL star also liked a post Mary posted to her Instagram on Monday – the first time he has made that move on social media.

Mary posted a series of photos from the Matildas Olympic Games qualifiers, which were loved by a host of teammates and fellow athletes, including Nathan.
