The British were out in force this evening and kicked off the four-day Bank Holiday weekend in high spirits, to the apparent amusement or bewilderment of passers-by.

Photos sent in from around the country show that punters wasted no time by flocking to pubs dressed in Easter outfits for a night out.

As temperatures in the capital soared to 48°F (9°C) at night, Londoners opted for outdoor drinks, with bunny ears.

Spectators could only watch as revelers danced in public and sipped drinks as businesses closed their doors for the weekend.

Several bachelor parties apparently chose the long weekend for evening antics.

Facing the Popworld nightclub, which is currently gearing up for a 12pm party tomorrow, partygoers were seen looking a little worse.

Nottingham was also packed with revelers enjoying Good Friday.

Many came out in festive costumes for the occasion.

In Leeds, people were also pictured wearing “celebratory” outfits to mark the start of the holiday.

Long queues lined the venues on Friday night as young people tried to make the most of the intermission.

Some were seen celebrating birthdays to coincide with the long weekend.
