NRL star Ben Hunt has spent an eye-watering $2.7 million on a holiday home on the NSW north coast near Byron Bay.

The 50-acre site, located in Newrybar, was previously a ‘luxury farm stay’ managed by the Black Cockatoo Retreats brand.

St George star Hunt, 34, and his wife Bridget already own another investment property he built on the outskirts of Brisbane in 2014.

His new pad is located just 15km inland from Byron Bay and prior to its recent sale was available for holidaymakers to rent for $1500 per night.

It was purchased by a local entrepreneur from Transport of NSW in 2021 for $1.9 million and renovated before being last put on the market for $2,950,000, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Hunt and his nutritionist wife live in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire.

They bought their stylish four-bedroom home in Caringbah South in 2019 for $1.61 million.

The house was built in 2010 and built in imitation ‘Queenslander’ style.

Born in Rockhampton, Hunt rose to fame playing for the Brisbane Broncos after making his NRL debut in 2009.

But despite being a Queenslander and later playing for St George, the halfback and hooker is known as a long-term fan of the Cronulla Sharks.

The Dally M and State of Origin favorite has also represented Australia since 2014.
