A Taco Bell employee was photographed giving another employee a haircut in the kitchen and is now under investigation by the local health department.

Jennifer Legear, a former employee at the Sycamore Taco Bell in Kokomo, shared on Facebook a photo of the shift manager giving the general manager a haircut just before the lunch rush.

Once the post gained widespread attention on social media, a complaint was sent to the Howard County Health Department, which then visited the fast food chain.

A spokesperson neither confirmed nor denied that the photo cut was related to the complaint they had received. The inspection report has not yet been released.

Once the post gained widespread attention on social media, a complaint was sent to the Howard County Health Department, which then visited the fast food chain.

Legear, who worked at the branch for a month, quickly sent the photo to her friends on Snapchat.

But after one of them posted the photo on their social media and she was fired, she decided to make it public on Facebook.

She said WTHR13: ‘I saw two of them taking out a pair of cutting scissors and setting up a garbage bag, and I thought, “That’s interesting.” Then they sit down and start cutting the hair at the back.

“It was only three feet from where you make the food.”

Legear explained in her Facebook post what happened after the photo went viral, saying the fast food chain’s management asked her why she took a photo and posted it.

They also told her that the haircut took place because the employees had a regular schedule and did not have time to go to a hair salon.

“Well, because I already got fired for it, because it somehow got leaked after I sent it to just a few people, and it made the people pictured VERY angry. (The GM in the chair and a shift manager doing the haircuts),” she wrote on Facebook, “who would have thought you could go to your local TB and get a taco and a haircut!”

‘Things I heard when I was approached to take this:

“If you had a problem with it, you should have said something,” um… No. Because it shouldn’t have happened

“Why did you even take a picture and post it,” because I can and I thought it was fucking weird. I didn’t post it. I showed five people. What they do with it is their business. If you don’t want people to see it, don’t do it?

“I work a regular schedule and don’t have time to get my hair cut” well… That sounds like your problem.

“roll your eyes at me again… Omg I’m gonna punch you” (I don’t think she thought I heard this one lol)

”You know what, you can just take your ‘I don’t care’ and leave. And being my friends is why I got fired from Taco Bell.”

Taco Bell has not yet commented on the situation. A corrective action plan can be expected to be put in place to resolve the violations. If there are delays in their implementation, the store could be heavily fined.

In a statement sent to Fox29the health department said, “The Howard County Health Department responded to a complaint submitted to our office via email on Thursday, 10/19/23.

“I sent an inspector to the Taco Bell on West Sycamore St. here in Kokomo on Friday morning 10/20/23. The restaurant was inspected for compliance with State Food Code 410 IAC 7-24 and the Howard County Ordinance.

‘The complaint was discussed with management at the time. After a 10-day response period, the inspection report may be released as public information.”
