His latest role is as the voice of a stray animated cat in The Amazing Maurice. But Hugh Laurie had a slightly sheepish expression as he took his dog for a walk.
As the 63-year-old actor strolled through his north London neighborhood in a red knit cap and puffer jacket, his grin seemed more in keeping with curmudgeonly Dr. Gregory House, his character on the US television drama House.
Already known in the UK for his performances with Stephen Fry, Laurie gained worldwide fame playing the grumpy doctor from 2004 to 2012.

The Cambridge University graduate was spotted with a dog last summer, this time looking significantly scruffier and sporting a bushy gray beard.
He has previously spoken of his love for his dogs, paying emotional tribute when his last pet, Stanley, died in February 2019.
Along with a photo posted on Twitter at the time, he wrote: “Stanley C. Brown departed this earth last night after 17 years.

“He was the dearest, gentlest, goofiest, handsomest companion anyone could wish for. It was a privilege.
In Laurie’s latest film, The Amazing Maurice, he voices a lively and cunning red-haired cat.
“I loved doing it and the animation is amazing, it’s great and I look very cute as a cat,” he told the Graham Norton Show last month.
“The movie is so funny and absolutely charming. I’m very proud of it.’
