Wear seasonal colors

“Tis the season for fall colors,” says Phillip.

‘Nature is the best creator as golden sunsets occur earlier in the evening and the leaves are ablaze with a mosaic of colors as an autumn decoration.’

The expert suggests deep, rich burgundy reds, wine colors, harvest golds, earthy, rich browns and tobacco notes that blend naturally with harvest pumpkin and country rust oranges.

Actress and model Jenny Shakeshaft stepped out in a beautiful orange slip dress topped with a cream blazer – the perfect look for a formal dinner.

‘Playing with shades can create rich color blocking,’ says Phillip.

He also advocates combining autumn tones with classic colors that are already in your wardrobe.

‘Personally, I like the tops in more vibrant, camera-ready colors and the classic trousers or skirts.’

Wear an elegant sweater

Friendsgiving is a modern tradition that has grown in popularity in recent years.

The trendy holiday is a gathering of friends that takes place before everyone goes home to celebrate with family.

For a Turkey Day out with your besties, opt for a look you’ll feel comfortable in all night long, because sometimes you can’t predict where the night will take you.

Need inspiration? Just turn to Taylor Swift. The singer stepped out for dinner in New York wearing a printed sweater in autumnal hues and relaxed bottoms.

“A beautiful top adds elegance and attracts the attention of people looking at you from across the table,” says Phillip.

Cashmere sweaters with embroidery or jewels are – just like the styles in his collection – great conversation starters.

‘I have created my unique sustainable cashmere collection because a sweater is the perfect fashion piece,” Phillip explains.

‘You can dress them up, but you can also make them casual. For the holidays, the elements I added (beads, pearls, crystals and feathers) are perfect to add a little sparkle, glamor and luxury.’

Don’t be too casual

Five years ago you wouldn’t dare wear athleisure to a party.

“But these days, sweatpants and leggings seem to have their own cachet,” says Phillip.

‘They’re not just for the gym or lounging around anymore. If you’re going for a look with an athleisure inspiration, find something that has a little extra style, like track pants with a sparkling racing stripe.

The stylist also suggests pairing your sporty pieces with a pair of stunning sneakers to take the overall aesthetic to the next level.

Or combine jeggings with a great blazer or knitted top, combined with over-the-knee boots.

For a sleek look, you can cover a drawstring or elastic waist with a long sweater or blouse.

‘This is a great way to combine these seasonal trends, stay comfortable and ensure your style is festive and cool!’

Embrace ‘quiet luxury’: Sofia Richie Grainge has become the face of aesthetics. She was recently spotted in Los Angeles wearing a white top and a matching tea-length skirt topped with a brown leather jacket

Embrace ‘quiet luxury’

“In recent years we have certainly all become more passionate about our comfortable fashion,” says Phillip.

‘But now that the world is having fun again, traveling and organizing fun festivities with family, quiet luxury is the desired effect.’

Sofia Richie Grainge is the unofficial face of the aesthetic known as “stealth wealth.”

The daughter of superstar Lionel Richie was recently spotted in Los Angeles wearing a white top and a matching tea-length skirt topped with a brown leather jacket.

Her blonde locks were styled in soft waves and she accessorized with a small brown bag and matching heels.

Don’t dress too trendy

’80s disco fashion and ’90s lingerie fashion are perfect for a fun holiday fit, but these styles do come with a warning,’ says Phillip.

“Always make sure you remember the difference between a work party, a family event, and a friend’s holiday party; dress codes are definitely different.”

To be on the safe side, combine timeless pieces with a few contemporary accessories, à la Kerry Washington.

The actress recently stepped out in a sweater and skirt from The Attico.

To modernize the classic pieces, she paired with blue suede boots from Le Silla, a red Heru handbag and layered Marlo Laz necklaces.

A monochrome outfit elongates the body while looking effortlessly chic and sleek. Put on a nice pair of boots, grab your best handbag and you can go… anywhere!

Pay attention to details

Throwing a party at your house?

“Being a hostess comes with a lot of responsibility during the holidays, but don’t forget that looking good is your first priority,” says Phillip like a true fashion expert.

“You are the star of the evening and all eyes will be on you,” he explains.

Phillip suggests keeping your outfit comfortable and simple, but steal the show with statement pieces.

“You’ll be running around a lot and taking care of your guests, so you don’t want an outfit that needs more attention than your company.”

The expert recommends a simple top and chic pants or a flowy skirt that allows you to move easily.

‘Dazzle them with a killer pair of earrings, a statement necklace or even some fun bracelets to draw attention to the beautiful dishes you’ll be serving.

‘As a hostess you have to pay attention to small details and accessories are the perfect way to do this.’

Don’t forget a comfortable pair of shoes!

Keep the temperatures in mind: sweaters with a round neck and a vest provide an elegant look

Take the temperature into account

Blazers and cardigans are ideal garments for the holidays, which often have a fresh look.

A fitted blazer is a good choice for an office party, while a cardigan is an acceptable, cozy layer for a relaxed family gathering.

Crew neck sweaters worn over a camisole also create an elegant look.

Television personality Lucy Mecklenburgh appeared on the red carpet in a slightly translucent mustard-colored sweater paired with a matching silk skirt.

When putting on a skirt or dress, keep your legs warm with stockings that match your skin tone.
