Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee sparked a huge sales boom at British mug maker Emma Bridgewater.
The Stoke-on-Trent-based pottery company saw turnover rise by a quarter to £33 million in April last year.
Profits at the company rose to £1.1m, up 25 per cent from a year earlier, Companies House documents show.

Emma Bridgewater sold a range of kitchenware including mugs, plates and teapots to celebrate the late monarch’s 70 years on the throne. It was also boosted by strong website sales and growth in the US and China.
The company has opened a new factory and distribution center to meet demand.
Emma Bridgewater was founded in 1984 when the eponymous founder turned to pottery as a birthday present for her mother. Stoke-on-Trent now employs over 400 people.
