Thames Water is offering customers a financial incentive to switch to a metered bill early.
Water meters allow you to track your usage. As a general rule of thumb, if you have more bedrooms than people in your home you could save money.

Thames Water aims to roll out water meters to all households by 2035.
It is writing to customers to offer them the chance to switch early to cash in on any savings.
The letters provide a comparison to show what they would pay with and without a meter.
Once the device is installed, they will have a 12-month grace period before they are automatically switched to a metered bill.
But if customers ask to move early, their account will be credited with the money they would have saved if they had switched when their device was activated.
Anyone who waits until they are automatically moved onto a meter will not receive backdated savings.
A Thames Water spokesman says: ‘Smart meters offer a fairer way to pay bills, by charging only for what is used. Any of our customers can also request a meter.’
