The couple reportedly argued after Turner accused Horn of giving her a sexually transmitted disease (STD).
Turner is accused of choking her on-again, off-again girlfriend after the heated argument.
Prosecutors alleged that Turner disposed of Horn’s body on the walking trail, which is just yards from the suspect’s apartment, after killing her.
Horn’s sisters confirmed the relationship between the two.
‘It was very toxic. They were fighting and everything,” said Skinesha Granville, Horn’s sister.
Granville used to share a house with the problematic couple.
“Shania cheated on my sister while at her house,” she said.
In addition to the infidelity, Granville claims Turner was abusive and violent to her sister.
“(She) hit her and hit her, beat her up and stuff, and I just had to break it up,” she said.
“I think she didn’t know how to approach us about it, or maybe she was afraid to tell us, so when we found out, it was way after the fact,” said Rokeisha Calton, Horn’s other sister.
Calton said she wasn’t sure if the STD rumor was true or not, or if that was the reason for the fatal altercation.
‘I’m not sure if that’s really the motive. I really don’t know why it happened, to be honest. I have no idea,” Calton said.

Horn’s sisters suspected that her “toxic” and “cheating” girlfriend had played a role in her disappearance and tragic death.
“I hope she can’t walk out or leave jail one day,” Calton said.
Turner’s bond was set at $100,000, although prosecutors were seeking $500,000 for the crime.
The judge ordered Turner to stay away from four women, including Horn’s sister Granville, during Friday’s court hearing.
