Texas ‘sex attacker’ Luis Sanchez is released on ONE DOLLAR bond ‘after giving teen girl vodka, letting her pass out, having sex with her and getting her pregnant’

‘Sex attacker’ Luis Sanchez of Texas is released on ONE DOLLARS bond ‘after he gave a teenage girl vodka, made her pass out, had sex with her and got her pregnant’

  • 25-year-old Luis Sanchez was released on a $1 bond just months after being accused of sexually abusing a child
  • Three months after the incident, the girl discovered she was pregnant with his baby
  • Prosecutors failed to charge Sánchez in time, leading to his release

A Texas “sex attacker” was released on a $1 bond after he gave a 16-year-old girl alcohol, made her pass out, had sex with her and got her pregnant in April 2022.

Due to prosecutors missing the deadline to charge 25-year-old Luis Sanchez, he was released Thursday, where he will soon be sent to a shelter, be under house arrest and wear an ankle monitor.

Three months after the teenage girl was allegedly raped by Sanchez, she discovered she was pregnant. Her mother took her to the hospital, where she told her that “Luis drugged and raped me.”

In the state of Texas, prosecutors are required by law to obtain an indictment that carries a 90-day jail sentence.

If this does not happen in time, a ‘reasonable or personal recognition bond’ must be imposed on the suspect.

There are still several conditions that Sanchez must meet before he is officially released, and he is reportedly still in custody at the Harris County Jail.

A recognizance bond is a bond that a suspect can afford, and for Sanchez they kept the bond at one dollar.

ABC-13 reported that the judge gave him a personal recognizance bond because the court paperwork stated that Sánchez is indigent.

Court documents also stated that after DNA testing, the baby the girl was carrying was actually his.

At the time of the incident, the teenage victim was going to Sanchez’s home in the Heights area of Pasadena with her siblings in April 2022 “to play games,” reported KRDO. She claimed that at one point her siblings were told to go back home while she stayed there with him.

Sanchez, who was 24 years old at the time, offered the girl Smirnoff vodka before she passed out and woke up next to a naked Sanchez.

When the girl revealed what happened, her mother contacted local media to help find Sánchez.

In May 2023, he was later arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child under 17.

Because he was not charged on time, his lawyer filed a motion to have the court reduce his bail amount. That request was granted by Judge Kathrine Thomas in the 184th District Court, KRDO reported.

In the state of Texas, prosecutors are required by law to obtain an indictment that carries a 90-day jail sentence

Steve Shellist, a trial attorney and legal analyst for ABC 13, said missing the indictment deadline is “not unusual.”

“These prosecutors have hundreds, some have thousands of cases on their plate, just like the courts, and things fall through the cracks, sometimes they just aren’t ready. I don’t think it’s intentional, but I think it happens more often than people think,” Shellist said.

Another investigation into a separate sexual assault involving Sanchez and the same girl is also ongoing in Fort Bend County, Texas.

Sánchez is due to appear in court again in November.
