According to Waller County Sheriff Troy Guidry, the body of 21-year-old Anggy Diaz was found dismembered and covered in blood with the head removed when her husband, 21-year-old Jared Dicus, was arrested and confessed to killing his wife. wife.

Guidry initially described the victim as a Hispanic female and said investigators found “a dismembered body part and a residence covered in blood.”

A knife that investigators believe to be the murder weapon was found in the home, along with Diaz’s head.

Law enforcement officials said there have been previous incidents involving the couple.

“There have been previous calls, in terms of riots, but nothing along these lines, with this level of violence,” Guidry told reporters on Thursday.

The woman is believed to have been dead since around 11 p.m. the night before her body was found after members of Dicus’s family called police at her home in the 200 block of Oak Hollow Boulevard.

The call came in around 4:45 p.m.

The couple lives in a cabin behind her parents’ house on the outskirts of Houston.

Authorities say they expect Dicus to be charged with murder.

The local judge who married the couple shared a heartbreaking post remembering Diaz and stating his intention to remove their marriage photo.

“That’s the world we live in today, it’s a horrifying scene,” the Waller County Sheriff said. “Both sides of these families will be upset by it”

“Like many of you, I am extremely saddened and shocked by the news of this tragic event and my prayers are with all of their families,” Waller County Judge Trey Duhon said.

This matter will now go through our court system, and I am confident that the Waller County Sheriff’s Office and the Waller County District Attorney’s Office will see that justice is done,” Duhon wrote.

Just two weeks ago, Diaz had posted a photo of her and her husband on Christmas Day to her Instagram, wishing her friends and family a “Merry Christmas.”
