Texas mother breaks down door to find two sons dead in murder suicide

A mother in Texas kicked in her son’s bedroom door and tragically found her two sons dead in an apparent murder-suicide.

An investigation is underway for the two brothers, ages 22 and 24, in Houston after they were found dead early Monday morning.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call just before 2 a.m., with paramedics arriving on scene and pronouncing both brothers dead from gunshot wounds, according to an HCSO news release.

The identities of the two men have yet to be released.

The mother had heard a “commotion” in one of her son’s bedrooms and kicked in the door before calling police, KHOU reported.

The 22-year-old allegedly shot his 24-year-old brother, who has autism, and then turned the gun on himself.

She and her two sons lived together in an apartment complex in Houston, and she was briefly hospitalized after suffering a panic attack, the outlet reported.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said, “Sad deal. Shooting appears to be a murder-suicide involving two brothers.”

The 22-year-old allegedly shot his 24-year-old brother, who has autism, and then turned the gun on himself.

The shooter is said to have had a “history of mental health issues” and according to KHOU 11, officers had previously responded to the scene for disturbances and mental health incidents.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and officials say the motive remains unclear.

Tributes and messages of condolence flooded social media following the news.

One person wrote: ‘I have no words. I cannot understand the pain this mother is going through.”

Another added: “So heartbreaking…prayers go out to the mother and the rest of the family.”

A third said: ‘Prayers are flowing for this Mother, she will need so much love and encouragement. Parents are not supposed to bury their children.’
