Texas mother ‘murdered’ along with her son and his girlfriend in suburban family home

A mother, son and his girlfriend are believed to have been murdered in a house that was then set on fire.

Kelly Masciarelli, 54, Kolin Foster, 23, and Cameryn Richard, 21, were found dead Sunday morning in Masciarelli’s Harris County, Texas, home following the still-unexplained house fire.

Investigators who visited the Cypress Mill Park Community Community believed all three were dead before the fire broke out and ordered autopsies.

The official cause of death for the trio remains to be seen. Detectives hope that surveillance footage seized in the suburb will shed more light on the incident.

The condition of the bodies when they were found is not yet known, but according to Sergeant Michael Ritchie it was already clear that their deaths were not an accident.

Kelly Masciarelli, 54, died at some point before the fire at her Texas home Sunday morning, police said

Her son, Kolin Foster, 23, and his girlfriend, Cameryn Richard, 21, were also found dead in the home, with police saying their deaths were not likely the result of an accident or smoke inhalation.

“We would venture to say that these individuals appeared deceased prior to the fire,” a Harris County sheriff’s sergeant said outside the Cypress home on Sunday.

“So this is definitely a case of murder, and not an accidental death from fire or smoke inhalation,” he concluded.

A red 1930s Corvette that was towed from the crime scene, he added, is now “an area of interest” for investigators after it was found in the driveway of the home.

Although the vehicle did not appear burned, it was still impounded.

Detectives would say only that Foster, who had celebrated his 23rd birthday a few weeks earlier, had recently purchased the car and that the previous owner, who was not named, had nothing to do with the incident.
