A Texas grandmother was heartbroken when her granddaughter was found dead in a tool bag and dumped in a Central Texas lake.
The baby, identified as Peyton Sky Davis, was found by a fisherman on August 31 in Lake Fort Phantom Hill in Abilene.
The child’s 20-year-old mother, Heather Kennedy, and her boyfriend, 35-year-old Donald Schulz, have been arrested and are now charged with tampering with a human corpse.
Schultz, who has not registered as a sex offender, faces additional charges, KTAB/KRBC reported.

The child’s grandmother, Tracy Davis, posted a beautiful photo of her granddaughter in a pink romper with the caption, “My beautiful granddaughter Peyton Sky Davis we all love you. Rip baby girl fly high.”

Baby Petyon was born in February 2024.
Davis told the news agency that she was never able to hold or see her granddaughter in person.
“It hurts so much. Not being able to hold her, not being able to give her the love that we shared for her,” the devastated grandmother said.
According to Davis, Peyton’s mother made regular video calls to see her granddaughter, but those calls stopped abruptly.
She received the heartbreaking news from the Abilene Police Department that baby Peyton was dead.
Kennedy and Schultz are being held in the Taylor County Jail. Bail for him has been set at $510,000 and for Kennedy at $350,000.
