Texas Border Patrol agents have recovered five unaccompanied migrant children with notes with addresses in New York and Texas.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers found the five young children in Eagle Pass after crossing the Rio Grande with a group of 60 illegal immigrants, Lt. Chris Olivarez. reported.

The children, aged five to 11, traveled all the way from Honduras and Guatemala.

They held paper notes with addresses of locations in New York and Texas written on them.

Striking photos showed the hopeful young people holding the pieces of paper.

A note from a little girl said “Schenectady, Nueva York” and included a name.

Another young migrant boy held a torn piece of paper with a Texas zip code scrawled on it.

The arrival of the unaccompanied children comes after a 62-page report from the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General found that “children who arrive in the United States unaccompanied are particularly vulnerable to exploitation.”

As time passes, more and more unaccompanied children are crossing the border. In the 2022 budget year, 128,904 minors crossed the border alone – compared to 122,731 the year before.

Most children came from Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Mexico, agency statistics show.

President Joe Biden will meet with law enforcement officials in Brownsville on Thursday, reportedly to push for the passage of a bipartisan border security deal.

The plan, drawn up earlier this year by a small group of senators, would link border security measures with foreign aid to Ukraine, Israel and allies in the Pacific.

The White House has called the package the “toughest and fairest set of reforms” in decades.

It includes increased funding for drug interdiction, along with other Border Patrol operations, authorized by the U.S. Border Patrol Union.

Meanwhile, Trump is also traveling to another Texas border city, Eagle Pass, ahead of the March 5 primary.

Eagle Pass has been at the center of Texas’ legal standoff with the Biden administration over the state’s right to enforce the border.

Operation Lone Star, which was launched in 2021 to combat the increase in illegal immigration and illegal drug trafficking, is still ongoing in the state.

The operation included the construction of an 80-acre base in Eagle Pass for National Guard troops deployed to deal with the increase in illegal activity at the border.
