The shoes everyone is wearing to Europe this year – but the style has caused a divide among shoppers

Australians traveling to Europe this year are buying a practical $130 pair of sandals, but not everyone agrees with this style.

Alivia, founder of body jewelry brand BODYD, was curious about Tevas after seeing others on TikTok bragging about the shoes.

Many claim the shoes ‘saved their feet’ while traveling and taking 25,000 steps a day. But others vowed they would never be found dead wearing such an ‘ugly’ shoe.

Alivia, 27, headed to her local Kathmandu to try on a pair for herself and shared a now-viral TikTok video.

‘Everyone is loving these shoes for the Euro summer. I’m going to try them on and see if they’re worth the hype,” she said in the clip.

In the video, Alivia shows the different shoes available and tried on a black pair.

Initially skeptical and hesitant because of the style, she said, “At this point I was definitely wondering why I tried this on.”

But after walking around the store, she quickly realized how comfortable the Tevas really are and felt confident that they could be worn all day while traveling.

‘These are a ten out of ten. I’ve never felt anything so comfortable and I ended up thinking they were cute,” Alivia said.

The video has since caught the attention of the masses, racking up over 124,000 views, but many disapproved of the style.

One person who disapproved of the Tevas said: “Who’s going crazy over this?”

“Wow, these make Crocs look nice? Seriously, the world has gone crazy,” said another.

“This has left me with all kinds of feelings… none of which are good,” someone else added.

But others agreed with the brand and many recommended the purchase.

“Tevas are great,” one person declared.

“I took the Tevas to Europe last summer and they saved me when I was swimming on the rocky beaches,” added another.

Another offered some alternative advice: ‘I’ve worn my Birkenstocks during my Euro summers and they are the best! Super light and comfortable.’
