An influencer has revealed the ’embarrassing’ test of true friendship, which will instantly tell you which friends you are most comfortable with.

Cora Shircel, 23, from Chicago, has over 300,000 followers on TikTok, where she documents her life and travels, including her “get ready with me” and fashion transportation videos.

The content creator, who rose to fame on YouTube, recently went viral after she shared how she knows who her real friends are.

“The test of a true friendship is not knowing who you would call if something goes wrong when you are in a crisis,” she began. “It’s who you wouldn’t be embarrassed to tag in a giveaway post.”

Brands and influencers are hosting social media giveaways as a way to increase engagement and gain new followers.

For whatever reason, tagging people in a post in an attempt to win free merchandise is often considered ridiculous.

“I have a lot of friends, but only a few that I would dare tag in a giveaway,” she insisted. “That’s real friendship.”

Shircel had the epiphany in her car, where she filmed herself drinking an iced coffee in a hooded sweatshirt.

She ended the 15-second clip by taking a sip from her straw.

“Why is it so embarrassing… but like it’s not???” she asked in the caption.

Shircel’s video has been viewed 1.1 million times and received more than 2,500 comments since it was posted on January 24.

Many agreed with her, saying this is “so real” and something they are uncomfortable with most people doing.

“OMG this is actually real,” one person wrote.

“LOL like (really) why is it so embarrassing?” someone else asked. ‘I only tag my husband and my sister.’

“My oldest sister (who I think is much cooler than me) tags me in contests and I immediately feel better than her,” another admitted.

Others didn’t understand why tagging someone in a giveaway post would be a big deal, regardless of your friendship status.

‘I’m not ashamed. I’m tagging people I haven’t spoken to in weeks,” one viewer responded.

“I think I’m officially old (because) I honestly don’t even know what she means,” another commented.

“If you were one of the 60, I would have entered *that* giveaway… thanks,” someone else joked.

Some people also commented that they “feel honored” when they are tagged in a contest.

“Not the same,” Shircel agreed. ‘Lokay, you trust me.”
