January 22, 2018 In Culver City: A Tesla Model S struck the back of a parked fire truck in an accident in Culver City around 8:30 a.m. on Interstate 405 using the cars' Autopilot system. The Tesla, which was traveling at 65 mph, sustained “significant damage” and the fire truck was taken out of service for body work.

May 30, 2018 in Laguna Beach: A Tesla sedan in Autopilot mode crashed into a parked police car in Laguna Beach, authorities said. Laguna Beach Police Sgt. Jim Cota says the officer was not in the cruiser during the incident. He said the Tesla driver suffered minor injuries.

The police SUV ended up with two wheels on the passenger side on the sidewalk.

December 7, 2019 in Norwalk, Connecticut: A 2018 Tesla Model 3 on Interstate 95 in Norwalk, Connecticut, using Autopilot, crashed into a rear-ended police car.

December 29, 2019 in Cloverdale, Indiana: A 2019 Tesla on Interstate 70 in Cloverdale, Indiana, crashed into the back of a parked firetruck.

Tesla driver Derek Monet and his wife, Jenna Monet, were seriously injured and taken to the hospital to receive immediate medical care. Gina ultimately succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

June 30, 2020 in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts: A Weston, Massachusetts, man driving a Tesla collided with a Massachusetts State Police vehicle parked in the left lane of Route 24 in West Bridgewater. The driver, Nicholas Ciarlon, faced a negligent driving charge and was arraigned in September 2020, a trooper at the scene reported.

July 15, 2020 in Conchise County, Arizona: A Tesla Model S collided with an Arizona Department of Public Safety patrol car, causing the patrol car to collide with an ambulance that was at the scene of a previous car accident. No one was seriously injured, but the Tesla driver was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

August 26, 2020 in Charlotte, North Carolina: A Tesla driver who was watching a movie collided with a Nash County Sheriff's Office deputy's car in Charlotte, North Carolina, on US Route 64 West.

The driver, Devinder Jolly of Raleigh, was charged with violating the transportation law and watching television while driving a vehicle.

February 27, 2021 in Montgomery County, Texas: A Tesla driver rear-ended a police Cruise during a traffic stop in Montgomery County, Texas. Five deputies were injured during the incident, which occurred around 1:15 a.m. on Eastex Highway near East River Road.

The Tesla driver was not injured, but was taken into custody on a DWI charge.

March 17, 2021 in Lansing, Michigan: A Tesla on Autopilot collided with a Michigan State Police vehicle. Troopers from the Lansing Post were investigating a car-deer crash on I-96 near Waverly Road in Eaton County around 1:12 a.m.

During the crash investigation, the Tesla driving on Autopilot collided with the patrol car, which had its emergency lights on.

Neither the driver of the Tesla — a 22-year-old man from Lansing — nor troopers were injured at the scene. Police issued a citation to the unidentified man for failure to move and drive while license suspended.

May 15, 2021 in Arlington, Washington: A Tesla driving in Arlington, Washington, collided with a police car, causing “significant damage” to the police car.

No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.

May 19, 2021 in Miami, Florida: Three people were taken to the hospital after a Tesla hit a parked Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation truck that was blocking the left lane of I-95 to help remove debris from an earlier crash.

The Tesla driver was transported to a nearby hospital with serious, though non-life-threatening, injuries.

July 10, 2021 in San Diego: A woman drove her Tesla onto a stretch of Interstate 56 that was closed for investigation into an earlier fatal crash. This resulted in her Tesla crashing into a parked, unoccupied highway vehicle.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, and her passenger was injured.

August 28, 2021 in Orlando: A Tesla Model 3 collided with a Florida Highway Patrol vehicle that had stopped to help a disabled vehicle. The 27-year-old driver and his passenger suffered minor injuries. The soldier was not injured.
