More than 4,000 Tesla cars are recalled

More than 4,000 Tesla cars have been recalled due to a problem with the steering wheel.

The recall, issued Thursday, affects 4,382 Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles built between 2022 and 2023.

“Due to a software problem, the steering wheel may give a jerky feeling when the vehicle is driven in low temperatures,” the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts said.

‘There is no safety concern and the defect does not affect the performance of the vehicle.’

According to the recall, the steering problem could mean the cars do not meet Australian vehicle standards.

Owners of the affected Teslas have been urged to contact the company to have the vehicle’s software updated, or do so themselves via the car’s main screen.
