Twitter users have criticized NFL legend Terry Bradshaw for mocking Andy Reid about his weight, and the Fox analyst is facing calls to resign over his comments.

The 64-year-old had just led his team to an impressive 38-35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, but he may have been surprised by the reception he received from an all-time great of the sport.

Four-time Super Bowl winner Bradshaw came under fire for comments he made in his postgame interview with the winning Kansas City Chiefs coach, in which he asked Reid to “come closer.”

As a result, viewers were shocked by the legend’s turn of phrase, with most fans opining that Bradshaw was out of character.

‘Great guy. Let me bring the big guy in here,” Bradshaw began after seeing Reid after leading his team to his second Super Bowl win as coach. Come on, come over here.

Bradshaw then told Reid to “have a cheeseburger on us” and suggested that Reid was “getting old”.

Reid himself has made light of his weight in the past, referring to himself as “a chubby guy,” and when asked how he would celebrate his first Super Bowl 54 title, said: “The biggest cheeseburger you’ve seen.” .. could be a double!’

But Bradshaw’s comments have sparked outrage on social media, with viewers jumping to Reid’s defense in the days following the Chiefs’ victory.

One user wrote: ‘Nothing like embarrassing the coach who won the #SuperBowl! No class and no taste.

Another added: ‘Bradshaw should be fired for embarrassing Andy Reid! He should have retired years ago. I mean, Bradshaw, not Reid.

A third criticized Bradshaw saying: ‘Just bad temper on Terry’s part. He laughs at the little jab at him, but it’s not remotely funny.

A fourth also pointed the finger at Fox, writing: ‘Note to Fox and Terry Bradshaw, awkward, embarrassing, awkward. #FireTerryBradshaw. Even your coworkers don’t want to be around your airheaded act any longer.

A fifth supported the statement: “The amount of shaming and ageism in Terry Bradshaw’s name is sickening.”

Several Super Bowl fans were quick to criticize the Fox analyst’s comments about Reid’s weight.

Bradshaw was a four-time Super Bowl winner with the Pittsburgh Steelers before becoming an award-winning analyst for Fox.

And a sixth joked: ‘I was waiting for Andy to (physically) throw him off the platform. He called him fat in 3 different ways and then he called him old.

Reid has won two Super Bowl titles in three years.

However, not all viewers shared the same views, with many suggesting that Bradshaw and Reid were on the same side of the joke.

Many also pointed to Reid’s earlier comments about his weight, suggesting that he clearly had no problem taking the subject lightly, as well as hinting that Bradshaw was being tongue-in-cheek given their similar age.

One viewer claimed: ‘Give me a break. Andy was not insulted in any way. grow people. Cheer up and smile. Terry Bradshaw isn’t a lightweight either.

A second claimed that although Bradhsaw was to blame for the bizarre mistake, he was now in trouble this time around, writing: “Andy jokes all the time about being a fat guy, Terry makes a lot of mistakes, this isn’t one.” from them.’

A third pointed to Reid’s earlier comments and insisted there was no anger coming from Reid: “You all know Reid likes cheeseburgers right? He was asked what he would do after SB’s latest win and he said eat a cheeseburger. So it’s a running joke. You can clearly see that Andy isn’t even angry. They are both big and older….

And a fourth had a similar opinion, writing: ‘Why did Reid laugh? Why did Reid make a joke about buying a cheeseburger after the last Super Bowl win? Why did Reid say that he was looking forward to getting a Bratwurst in Germany when the Chiefs play there next year? It’s almost like… it’s a joke by Reid and all of us playing.’

Several viewers were quick to defend Bradshaw’s comments, pointing out Reid’s earlier jokes about his own weight.
