A terrorist attack has left a number of people dead and injured at the headquarters of a defense company in Turkey, officials said.
The attack was carried out against the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) near Ankara, with explosions and gunshots reportedly heard outside the building.
Photos from the scene show a large plume of smoke rising and significant damage caused to structures outside the building.
Unconfirmed reports in local media have suggested that a suicide bomber targeted the entrance gate before several attackers clashed with security forces.
Special forces, firefighters and medical teams were sent to the scene.
Production company staff were evacuated and told to seek shelter.

Mansur Yavas, the mayor of Ankara, said in a statement: “I am deeply saddened by the conflict and terrorist attack that took place on the TAI facility in Ankara.
“I wish God’s mercy for our martyrs and a speedy recovery for our wounded. We condemn terrorism.’
According to Turkish media, TAI has recently developed attack helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and aircraft.
