Terrifying images have been posted online of a massive tornado touching down in Nebraska on Friday.
The video, filmed from the top floors of a building in the Omaha and Lincoln areas of the state, sees huge storm clouds swirling as a siren blares eerily in the background, warning residents of the impending danger.
The one-minute clip appeared to be shot from the balcony of an apartment building.
The full extent of the tornado can be seen on the horizon, with the giant clouds slowly rotating as the storm rages across the region.
From the point where the video was recorded, the winds appeared to be relatively light, but towards the center of the storm the force would have caused massive destruction to virtually everything in their path.

The siren sounding in the background only adds to the hair-raising nature of the video and sheer luck that the tornado didn’t move in the direction of the person filming the footage.
At the beginning of the video the sky is dark and gray, but within a minute the danger seems to have passed and the sky is significantly brighter.
In a second video posted online, a storm chaser was able to capture remarkable footage of a tornado crossing the highway near Omaha, Nebraska.
You could see the tornado land on the ground as the storm took its destructive funnel shape.
