Terrifying new bodycam footage shows heart-pounding final moments before Austin SWAT officer Jorge Pastore was killed while trying to free hostages from suspect on terror watchlist
Dramatic new bodycam video shows the final moments before Austin SWAT officer Jorge Pastore was shot by a man on the terrorist watch list as he tried to free two hostages.
The video shows SWAT officers in tactical gear storming the house where several people were stabbed and held against their will.
Austin police have not released video of the moment Pastore, 38, was shot and killed as he confronted the gunman inside the home.
Police were called to the home on Nov. 11 when a desperate woman begged for help, saying she and others in the South Austin home were being stabbed.
The unidentified woman, who was sobbing and injured, managed to flee the home and encountered officers down the street from the home.
After officers later entered the home, they found the gunman, identified as Ahmed Mohamed Nassar, 35, hiding in a bedroom in the home.
He shot at officers, killing Pastore and wounding a second officer, who is expected to make a full recovery.
Three members of the SWAT team returned fire, killing Nassar. DailyMail.com exclusively reported that Nassar was on the terrorist watch list, according to law enforcement sources. In addition, prior to Pastore’s murder, the FBI had also been investigating members of the shooter’s family.

Nassar was wearing tactical gear and is believed to have had materials to make bombs, according to a search warrant after the SWAT standoff.
“Cutting tools, body armor and all tactical equipment, including firearms, were all allegedly carried or used by the suspect,” the search warrant said.
Senior Officer Jorge Pastore worked for the Austin Police Department for three years before his death.
He decided to become a police officer after serving as a paramedic in the 2018 Parkland school shooting in Florida.
The husband and father’s two stepchildren were laid to rest on November 17, as hundreds of residents of the Texas capital came to pay their respects to the fallen hero.
The shooter’s brother and mother were also found dead in the house.
They were identified as Eyman Ahmed El Nemr-Nassar, 63, and Riad Mohamed Nassar, 32, by members of Austin’s Muslim community.
