This is the terrifying moment a woman grabbed a guard’s gun and opened fire as she was bundled into the back of a police van.

Three people were injured in the violent incident that occurred outside a busy Chilean market on Monday as the woman was detained.

Footage of the incident showed the unnamed woman’s arms being held behind her back as she was wheeled to a detention van by two armored guards.

When she reached the van, a third security guard in a high-vis jacket got out of the front seat and opened the rear doors so she could be placed in the back of the vehicle.

However, before she was led into the van, she was able to reach behind her and pull a revolver from the holster of the guard holding her arms.

It wasn’t until the third guard who had opened the door turned around that he noticed she had pulled the gun from its holster. At this point it was too late.

With her arms still behind her back, the woman was able to fire several bullets, causing panic among bystanders.

The first bullet was fired into the floor, causing the three guards to jump back in alarm, while the guard in the back jumped behind a concrete barrier.

As the other two attempted to wrest the firearm from her grasp, the woman was able to twist from the guard’s grasp and fire several more shots into the crowd.

People who saw the incident – ​​including the cameraman – were forced to run back through the market, away from the angry gunman.

Three people were injured in the shooting, including a security guard and the cameraman who captured the moment via a livestream.

He was later seen in photos hunched over in pain while holding his stomach.
