Six people were shot and injured in the shooting incident in Brighton Heights just after noon on Friday, including one seriously because a gunman is still at large.

Multiple shots were fired outside the Destiny of Faith Church, where a funeral was taking place for 20-year-old John Hornezes.

Hornezes was one of three people killed in a North Side shooting at the Sunoco gas station on Cedar Avenue on Oct. 15.

Police identified the two others who died in the October 15 incident as innocent victims and said Hornezes was the likely target of the shooting.

Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey spoke to local reporters Friday afternoon and asked for information about the case.

“I want you to call and tell us what you know. I want you to say something and say something,” he said.

“They shelled the shrine today and I know a lot of people are in pain. But going out for revenge doesn’t make anything better.’

On Friday, Pittsburgh Public Safety tweeted that “multiple shots have been fired in the area 3700 block of Brighton Road.”

A woman coming out of the church in Brighton Heights where the shooting took place said violence in the area was ‘getting out of control’

Dan Laurent, a spokesperson for the Allegheny Health Network, said: CNN that patients were taken to AGH around 12:45 p.m., but Laurent had no information about their condition or the nature of their injuries.

Police Chief Richard Ford said authorities are still investigating a motive for the shooting.

No information on suspects is being released at this time, as the police have a strong presence in the area.

A woman coming out of the church in Brighton Heights where the shooting took place told… WPXI it got ‘out of hand’.

“We have to stop this violence, we have to love each other, we have to communicate with each other, we have to reason with each other that this is not the way,” she said.
