Terrifying moment mob of men brutally beat lesbian couple celebrating a birthday after the women objected to their homophobic slurs

Terrifying footage shows the moment a group of men brutally assault a lesbian couple as they celebrate one of their birthdays.

The group of about seven to 10 men could be seen kicking one of the women, who was lying on the ground surrounded by her attackers, while the other tried to break free from the grasp of another man.

Both women were injured in the attack. According to Emma MacLean, the attack was sparked when one of the men made a rude comment to her while she and her friend, identified only as Tori, were walking down the street in Halifax, Canada on June 22.

“My friend Tori said, ‘Hey, that’s my friend,’” she said. told CTV News.

But that only led to the men making homophobic comments towards them, MacLean said.

“They continued walking and then Tori followed them and verbally said, ‘That’s not okay,’” MacLean said.

Then the group allegedly beat Tori.

‘I saw Tori being pushed up the stairs, right in front of the BMO Centre. They were concrete stairs, and she was on her back. Then all the men started hitting her and kicking her.

MacLean says she initially yelled at the men to stop, but they ignored her and continued to attack her friend.

Then she decided to protect Tori.

“There was a fight or flight response,” MacLean explained. She said she “basically jumped on the back of one of them and put him in a choke hold, trying to hold him down.”
