Terrifying moment Los Angeles meteorologist rolls her eyes before collapsing on live TV

  • CBS LA Meteorologist Alissa Carlson Schwartz passed out on live TV Saturday
  • Before he could give his weather report, his eyes rolled back and he fell onto his arms before collapsing to the ground.
  • The show went on hiatus and did not return to live segments. Around 2:30 p.m., Schwartz updated his Facebook page to say that he was “going to be fine.”

This is the terrifying moment a Los Angeles meteorologist rolled her eyes before collapsing to the ground on live TV.

CBS LA meteorologist Alissa Carlson Schwartz was about to give city residents her 7 a.m. report when the color suddenly drained from her face before she rested her forearms on her desk as her co-anchors chatted between segments.

She tried to keep a smile on her face, but before she could begin her prognosis, her eyes rolled back. She slowly fell forward into her arms until her head was inches from her desk. Then her legs gave out and she fell with a lurch to the ground.

Her co-hosts, Nichelle Medina to Rachel Kim, didn’t seem to notice that Schwartz had passed out at first, with Medina going straight to the former Mrs. California and saying, “Alissa, this really is the calm before the storm.”

Seconds later, Kim lets out a surprised ‘oh’ and can be seen squirming in her chair as she tries to see Schwartz across the room.

“You know, we’re going to go ahead and go to halftime, right now,” Medina tells the audience.

“Yes,” Kim agrees.

The show did not return to a live segment, according to TMZ, instead airing pre-recorded segments.

Schwartz posted an update on his Facebook page around 2:30 p.m., writing, “Thanks for all the texts, calls, and well wishes.” I’ll be fine!’

It’s unclear what caused Schwartz to pass out, but a similar incident occurred in 2014 while she was working at a different station. He was filling in for one of his co-workers and he suddenly vomited in the middle of the broadcast.

After seeing a doctor, he discovered that he had a leaky heart valve. They told her they didn’t know when she would wear out. However, after having her daughter, the stem cell from her pregnancy helped repair her heart.

It was not immediately clear if her fainting episode was related to her previous heart problems.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the US and can manifest with a variety of symptoms, including chest pain, stomach pain, sweating, leg and arm pain, and extreme fatigue, among others.
