A fighter jet fuel tank destroyed two cars in a Turkish parking lot after they fell from the sky.
The reserve fuel tank of an F-4 Phantom II fighter jet of the Turkish Air Force fell on parked cars this morning at the headquarters of the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) – the national oil company of the Turkish government – in Ankara.
Shocking videos show the huge fuel tank falling from the sky before crashing into two parked cars. Debris from the tank also destroyed the windshield and roof of a third car.
The aftermath, filmed by bystanders, shows the tank on top of the two cars, whose roofs, windows and parts of the doors were completely crushed by debris.
Those who witnessed the falling fuel tank crashing into the cars reportedly ran away in panic, according to local media reports.
No injuries or deaths have been reported as a result of the accident.

The fighter jet to which the tank belonged took off this morning from an area in northwestern Ankara – currently hosting an aviation festival – and returned safely to its base in Eskişehir.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense said in a statement today: ‘Part of our Turkish Air Force’s F-4 fighter jet crashed into an open parking lot of TPAO during its flight in Ankara skies for unknown reasons.
“The plane in question landed safely at Eskişehir Square. There were no deaths or injuries. A detailed technical investigation into this matter is continuing.”
People on X (formerly Twitter) were outraged that the falling tank put people in danger: “People could have died. If someone had left their child in the car, the child could have died. This is an example of complete ignorance and incompetence,” one wrote.
