Terrified Riley Gaines ‘ambushed by screaming trans activists who physically attacked her’

College swimming champion Riley Gaines filmed herself being ambushed by screaming trans activists and reportedly “punched multiple times by a man in a dress” after giving a speech about saving women’s sports.

A terrified Gaines, 23, was forced to barricade herself in a room on the San Francisco State University campus last night after a group of activists ambushed her.

Gaines’ husband, Louis Barker, said he had brief conversations with his wife while she was locked in the room for nearly three hours.

“She told me she was beaten several times by a man in a dress. I was shaking. It made me so angry. It sickens me to feel so helpless about it,” Barker said. “She was under police protection and still got hit by a man in a dress.”

“The inmates run the asylum at SFSU… I was ambushed and physically hit twice by a man,” Gaines wrote in the tweet.

“This is proof that women need sex-protected spaces. Still, just reassures me that I’m doing something right. If they want you to shut up, speak louder.’

While talking to students, Gaines’ comments caused backlash in the form of hysterical screams that drowned out her speech.

“Tonight, Riley Gaines spoke at San Francisco State University to share her personal story of battling a biological male athlete, Lia Thomas, at last year’s Women’s NCAA Swimming Championships,” Eli Bremer, Gaines’ agent, told Fox. News Digital in a lengthy statement.

Over the past year, her goal in speaking at universities has been to educate her peers about her experience and what the impact of the growing number of biological men in women’s sports will have on the integrity of Title IX. She has been questioned many times in civil and somewhat rude ways about her views, and she strongly encourages different points of view and debate on the matter.

“Instead of a thoughtful discussion tonight at SFSU, Riley was violently accosted, yelled at, physically assaulted and barricaded into a room by protesters. It is astonishing that in America in 2023 it will be acceptable for biological male students to violently attack a woman for standing up for women’s rights.

This doesn’t stop Riley from boldly educating people about the dangers of biological men in women’s sports. She will continue to speak the truth to the radical left that no longer understands the difference between men and women.”

The university’s student-run newspaper, Golden Gate Xpress, showed a small protest ahead of Gaines’ arrival on Thursday night.

Further images showed the protest getting bigger and bigger.

The chaos climaxed to the point where Gaines had to be escorted out of the room by police and down a hallway, then barricaded into another room.

As she was moved to a safer location, protesters were captured chanting “go the f**k home” and “trans women are women” as they posted transgender flags along walls.

Some images shared by the outlet showed members of TPUSA staff being held up during protests and escorted out of the venue.

Assistant Dean of Students, Chris Trudell, was reportedly seen attending to the situation and trying to de-escalate tensions.

Washington DC-based campaign group the Independent Women’s Forum, for whom Gaines is a spokeswoman, tweeted, “We strongly condemn the violence against @iwf spokeswoman @Riley_Gaines_ on the @SFSU campus. Riley was violently assaulted, ambushed and physically assaulted during a speech about gender discrimination faced by women in their own gendered sports category.”

In a statement to Fox, a TPUSA spokesperson said the counter-protest against Gaines’ speech was “organized by SFSU’s Queer and Trans Resource Center.”

The spokesman said rowdy protesters outside the room “burst in when the event was over.”

Gaines, a 12-time All-American swimmer, became a national figure after she publicly objected to trans swimmer Lia Thomas’ participation in women’s sports.

Many athletes, such as Nancy Hogshead-Makar, have warned that biological men have a clear advantage over biological women when they compete.

The San Francisco Police Department and SFSU did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment on the situation.
