Terrified Lizzie Cundy reveals she’s back behind the wheel for the first time after horrific car accident left her ‘lucky to be alive’ and battling with her mental health

Lizzie Cundy revealed she is back behind the wheel for the first time after a horrific car crash left her ‘lucky to be alive’ and struggling with her mental health.

The TV personality, 56, who previously revealed her car was written off in the accident, told MailOnline she has had therapy to help her get over the incident and is now the proud owner of a new Mercedes-Benz.

She said: ‘I was very scared to get back in the car, it was a nightmare, the car was completely written off and I was shocked with chest injuries.

‘So it was quite a scary time and I finally got back behind the wheel, but I’ve had to have a bit of therapy, I’ve had constant physio and I couldn’t lie down properly.’

She continued, “I’ve had to lie up a bit, but the scariest thing is just sitting back in the car.”

The TV personality then explained on the podcast how she is considered the “original WAG” and is not bothered by the description.

Lizzie divorced Jason in 2012 after finding out he cheated on her with opera singer Hannah Pedley.

Since their divorce, she has been with several eligible men and even spent a memorable evening with Tom Cruise, 62.

Recalling how she met Tom, Lizzie said: ‘I had interviewed Tom on the red carpet and I was with my son and said, “Let’s go out for a bite to eat.” We walked into the restaurant and there’s Tom sitting there.’

‘I went to the toilet and he recognized me. I ended up sitting there for another half hour, forgetting that my son was waiting for me. We ended up spending the evening together, it was really nice.”

However, she joked that she could never date the 5″7 star, adding: ‘I would have to wear flats.’
