What seemed like a young girl’s imagination was actually something that led to a shocking discovery in their North Carolina home.
A beekeeper found about 60,000 honeybees after three-year-old Saylor Class insisted there were “monsters in the wall” of her Charlotte home.
According to the BBCher mother Ashley Massis Class didn’t think about what her daughter said and even gave her a bottle of water so she could spray down all the monsters at night.’
The family has since gone viral on TikTok after Ashley posted a video of the discovery last week and clips from the aftermath of the past few days.
“They came out looking like a horror movie,” Class told the BBC.
Class claimed the honeybees damaged the home’s electrical wiring and would cost more than $20,000 in damages.

Ashley Class thought nothing of her daughter’s statements until she and her husband found swarms of bees in her chimney and attic
Saylor had repeatedly told her parents about the “monsters in the wall” a few months before the discovery.
Ashley and her husband began to realize those monsters could be bees after she discovered bunches in her chimney and in the attic.
Saylor’s parents began to believe that the three-year-old girl heard honeybees buzzing near her bedroom ceiling. They called a pest control company, who confirmed the “samples.”
The couple then contacted a beekeeper named Curtis, who discovered bees going to the floorboards in the attic. Curtis confirmed the thousands of infestations by using a thermal camera to scan the walls.
The camera ‘lit up like a Christmas tree’ and the beekeeper concluded that the creatures had been living in their house for about eight months.
He later told the BBC that he had never seen a beehive go so far into a wall.
Curtis, who Saylor calls “the monster hunter,” had his work cut out for him and Ashley posted a TikTok video of some of the work he did to remove the honeybees.

According to Ashley, Curtis removed 20,000 bees and more than 40 pounds of honeycomb from the wall the day after the creature was discovered.
He managed to find the queen bee in the walls and moved her to another hive to make her ‘new home’.
Saylor couldn’t help but stare at the bees Curtis had collected so far and it seemed like she wasn’t afraid of them.
Ashley posted another TikTok video from the third bee extraction yesterday, which revealed a hole in Saylor’s bedroom wall.
Curtis found the queen bee during the initial extraction, along with more than 20,000 honey bees that have since been placed in a new hive at a sanctuary
Curtis has since removed between 55,000 and 65,000 honey bees and about 50 pounds of honeycomb.
By the third extraction, Curtis had removed between 55,000 and 65,000 honeybees. Like the queen bee, they have all been safely moved to a beehive in a honey bee sanctuary.
“Curtis has been a godsend and has helped us through this entire process,” Class wrote in the video.
Ashley claimed inside a TikTok video the family must wait two weeks before the hole in Saylor’s room can be repaired.
“I think this is one of the things I didn’t think I would have to deal with while I’m ten weeks postpartum,” she added in the video description.
