Terrified Bali tourists are forced to jump into the ocean from a sinking ship when wild waters overwhelm the ship, stranding them at sea in a storm: ‘This is the next level’

Terrifying footage captured the moment a tourist boat carrying dozens of people sank in rough seas off Bali.

Passengers were seen jumping overboard from the stricken boat wearing life jackets, which sank around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday while en route to Nusa Penida-Sanur.

More than 23 people were rescued and no casualties were reported.

Pictures of the ordeal have gone viral online, with many Australians warning others about the risks of boating in Bali.

‘When boats are canceled or there is a bad weather warning. Don’t try to find a cheap boat to cross,” said one.

“I swore never to get on one of those boats again after a horrible trip to Gili T when the captain got down on his knees and started praying,” said a second.

β€œWe were also running into a shipping lane, which made it even worse. These boat operators probably do not have insurance or regular maintenance.’

A third said: “My husband and I had the scariest trip of our lives going to Lembongan in 2019. As we were sitting in the airport a few days later there was a news broadcast of two people dying in the same waters because of a Capsized boat. There really has to be better standards in Bali.’

The boat was hit by a large wave that caused the vessel to sink, according to a local news source.

Fortunately, there were several boats in the vicinity that came to the rescue of the passengers.

While there were no casualties, some passengers sustained minor injuries exiting the ship. Personal items were also lost.
