Terri Irwin ‘afraid her children Bindi and Robert will leave her’ after Steve’s death

She raised her children as a single mother after the death of her husband Steve ‘The Crocodile Hunter’ Irwin in 2006.

And Terri Irwin, 58, is now struggling with the bittersweet realization that her children Bindi, 24, and Robert, 19, are adults, reports claim.

“Terri is happy to see Bindi and Robert live their lives and prosper, but it breaks her heart a bit to see her children grown up and needing her less and less,” a source said. New Idea magazine on Monday.

Terri’s fears were apparently heightened by the news of Robert’s new relationship with Rorie Buckley, as well as Bindi’s second pregnancy.

Bindi and her husband Chandler Powell are rumored to be expecting their second child, almost two years after the birth of their daughter Grace.

‘[Terri] She has watched with pride as Bindi became a confident mother with Grace, but knows that when the next little one arrives, Bindi will want to do things her way now, and it will likely be a difficult adjustment,” the source said.

Terri apparently doesn’t agree with the decision, as she is apparently very interested in showing the public her growing family.

“It’s probably not how Terri wants it, but Bindi told her mom that when baby number two arrives, they’ll follow her rules,” the source said.

At the time, sources close to the couple said Women’s Day magazine the lovebirds will announce the big news ‘any day now’.

The publication alleged that the conservation duo were waiting for Chandler’s parents Chris and Shanna, who reside in the United States, to arrive in Australia for his birthday to break the happy news first.

“They expect to officially announce that another baby is on the way any day now,” a source reportedly told the publication.

“They also can’t wait to give Grace a sibling close in age. They really want a boy, since both Bindi and Chandler grew up with a sibling each and loved it.

The source went on to say that “Bindi is sad the baby months are over” and hopes to give her 20-month-old daughter, Grace Warrior, a sibling “sooner rather than later.”

Bindi has already hinted to her mother that she could be a grandmother for the second time and [her mum] Terri is over the moon just thinking about it.”

Steve, known as The Crocodile Hunter, died on September 4, 2006, at the age of 44, after a ray pierced his chest while filming a wildlife documentary called Ocean’s Deadliest in Queensland.

Terri has never dated or remarried since her husband’s death, despite rumors of affairs with the likes of Russell Crowe over the years.

Meanwhile, the Irwins have kept Steve’s memory alive through their conservation work at Australia Zoo.
