Teri Hatcher, 59, reveals she has given up on love after being thrown off dating app Hinge as she arrives at radio studios in white ensemble

Teri Hatcher announced she has given up dating after being kicked off the dating app Hinge.

The 59-year-old Desperate Housewives star told Angela Scanlon, who replaces regular presenter Chris Evans on his Virgin Radio show, all.

Teri looked angelic when she arrived in a white maxi dress with broderie anglais and white heels.

While discussing the 15th anniversary of her film Coraline, she also opened up about her dating failures.

The star appeared on the show to talk about Coraline’s 15th birthday, but also revealed that she has given up on dating after her dating app failure

She said, “I think the point was to say to the universe, ‘I’m open to dating.’ Everyone talks about it: ‘You have to gesture to the universe to make things happen for you.’

‘And so that was me; I go on a dating app and it’s going to universally say I’m open to dating, I’m willing, right? Although I guess I never really thought that was going to be the direction that would work for me. But I also didn’t think that one day I’d open the app on my phone and I’d be blocked!’

The star went on to explain that she believes her account was blocked so quickly because no one believed it was her.

She said, ‘I think when I was on the app, people would say, “This can’t possibly be Teri Hatcher. What would she be doing on this app?”

“Or they’d say, ‘Hey, do you want to go on a date with me?’ And when I didn’t, I think they got mad that I wasn’t responding. And so I think those people must have collectively alerted Hinge that someone was pretending to be me.”

‘But that whole era is over now. Now I still don’t date, but I’m also not on apps!’

The star previously told This Morning presenters Rylan Clark and Josie Gibson that Matthew Perry had texted her about her failed date, shortly before his tragic death.

Teri radiated a summery figure in a white maxi dress with ruffles and embroidered flowers. She spoke about her relationship struggles and the support she received from her girlfriend.

She said: ‘When you get kicked out, you don’t get an email, you just get blocked. And the only thing I could do was go on Twitter and ask Hinge through that. So they contacted me and put me back on.’

Teri says Matthew messaged her at the time to share his experiences on the dating app.

She said: ‘He and I stayed in touch regularly after I got to work with him on The Odd Couple years ago. And that was really funny.

“We kept in touch once or twice a year. We had a texting relationship, so when I tweeted, he immediately tweeted, ‘I got kicked off Hinge too, what are we both doing on Hinge?’

Matthew died in November at the age of 54 from a ketamine overdose.

Teri was married twice before: to Marcus Leithold from 1988 to 1989 and later to Jon Tenney from 1994 to 2003.
