Tennessee dental staffer seen laughing at cancer patient’s diary breaks her silence with SMIRKING TikTok response
The Knoxville, Tennessee, dental office worker who was caught on camera laughing at a cancer patient’s diary has broken her silence with a heartless TikTok.
Kelsey Pollard has been criticized after a video went viral showing her sitting on the floor and laughing as a dental colleague read out a cancer patient’s diary.
Pollard, who works at Premier Dental Group in Knoxville, has now responded to the negative comments in a TikTok video, but her account has since been made private.
On TikTok, Pollard made a peace gesture with the caption, “When you go viral because you’re a piece of shit.”
She then walks to a trash can outside and jumps in, while cheerful music plays in the background.

Her heartless grin response was uploaded to the Libs of TikTok X account. According to the account, Pollard claims there are “two sides” to the story.
Before her account was made private, it appears that Pollard uploaded a video in response to a user’s comment saying, “This should be grounds for jail.” However, the video is no longer publicly available and it’s unclear what she had to say.
In the original video, which was recorded on Snapchat, the staff can be seen laughing at patients’ thoughts about different treatment options and concerns about various procedures.
Premier Dental Group of Knoxville has apologized on Facebook, acknowledging the “inappropriate video created and shared by some of our employees that discusses an individual’s medical condition in a disrespectful and unprofessional manner.”

However, the practice’s profile disappeared shortly after the statement was published.
“We deeply regret this incident and the pain it caused,” the practice wrote in the now-deleted apology, according to WBIR.
The group acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and said it would investigate.
“We take this matter very seriously. We have launched a thorough investigation into the incident and are taking immediate action to address it. The employees involved have been contacted and we are reviewing our internal policies and training procedures to ensure that such an incident does not occur again.”

Premier Dental Group of Knoxville responded by issuing an apology on Facebook. The practice’s account has since been deleted.
Some expressed their criticism of the practice via social media.
“It’s pretty disturbing that these girls thought this was funny and they’re dealing with patients’ personal information EVERY DAY,” one person wrote. “So there’s no telling what they’re doing with other people’s personal information.”
This was not the first controversy at Premier Dental Group of Knoxville.
In 2023, the practice agreed to pay about $1 million to settle a lawsuit over allegations it defrauded Tennessee’s Medicaid program and potentially put patients at risk through unqualified staff and unnecessary procedures, KVUE reported.
