Temu urges shoppers to ‘destroy’ glow-in-the-dark hoodies after child suffers serious injuries
A number of glow-in-the-dark children’s hoodies sold on online retail marketplace Temu have been recalled over fears they could catch fire.
The hoodies were sold online across Australia between October last year and March, with Product Safety Australia reporting that a child had already been injured.
According to the recall notice, the hoodies do not carry a mandatory warning label and pose a serious risk of burns to children when exposed to heat or a flame source.
“An incident has occurred in which a child has been seriously injured,” it said.
Consumers were warned to stop using the hoodies and to keep them out of the reach of children.
Temu has also urged customers to destroy or throw away the jerseys.
“Consumers will receive a full refund from Temu on behalf of the retailer Sunshine Towels,” the recall said.
The recalled hoodies are available in four colors and styles: Pink Rainbow Unicorn, Purple Rainbow Unicorn, Blue Dinosaur and Space Planet.
