Tempers flare in Lions-49ers as Jauan Jennings is violently shoved into crowd before rival slaps him

The showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions briefly descended into chaos Monday night when a player forcibly crossed the end zone barrier and into a line of spectators.

Midway through the first quarter at Levi’s Stadium, Jennings and Joseph dragged each other to the barrier separating the end zone from the crowd before tempers flared.

After jumping to his feet, Joseph pushed Jennings into a line of spectators before casually strolling over and punching his rival, who got back up and pushed the Lions star before a referee and teammates intervened.
